Overview
Minimum safety and performance requirements governing air regulator output and service intervals for competition use.
Key Points
- Regulators must deliver stable and predictable output pressure
- Output spikes beyond velocity limits are prohibited
- Service intervals must follow manufacturer and event guidelines
- Regulators may be flagged for re-testing if drift is observed
Details
Regulator rules ensure that compressed-air output remains within safe and predictable limits during competition. Regulators exhibiting pressure drift, inconsistent output, or malfunctioning relief systems may pose a safety risk and are subject to immediate inspection.
Leagues may require proof of regulatory service intervals in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. Regulators that fail to demonstrate stable pressure during chronograph tests must be removed from play until the issue is resolved.
Officials may monitor markers suspected of pressure drift during active matches and conduct post-game re-tests to confirm ongoing compliance.
