Overview
Standardized inspection procedures used to verify that markers remain compliant with safety, classification, and firing-mode regulations.
Key Points
- Officials inspect markers before, during, and after play
- Board settings, firing modes, and velocity must match legal criteria
- Markers may be disassembled for classification verification
- Non-compliant markers must be corrected before use
Details
Marker inspection procedures provide referees with consistent methods to verify that all markers used in regulated paintball comply with event rules. These procedures include visual checks, functional testing, and, when necessary, partial disassembly.
Electronic markers may be inspected for firing-mode behavior, board settings, solenoid operation, and ROF control. Officials may require players to demonstrate firing modes or scroll through board menus.
Mechanical markers are inspected for true mechanical operation, absence of electronic assistance, and consistent cycling behavior.
Markers may also undergo safety checks such as trigger integrity, barrel security, regulator stability, and air-system compatibility.
Inspections may occur before matches, after penalties, or at random intervals. Any marker failing inspection must be corrected before further use.
These procedures support rule enforcement, promote safety, and prevent performance-based advantages created by unauthorized modifications.
